Community Clean Links invites you to roll up your sleeves and make a difference in our neighborhood! We’re organizing a community cleanup event to help keep our local areas beautiful and sustainable.
Why Join Us?
Our community spaces are treasures that deserve our care and attention. Dogwood Park serves as a gathering place for families, friends, and neighbors, and together we can ensure it remains a clean, welcoming environment for everyone to enjoy. This cleanup event is more than just picking up litter; it’s about building connections, fostering pride in our community, and setting an example for future generations.
Every piece of trash removed, every corner cleaned, and every hour volunteered makes a tangible difference. Plus, you’ll meet fellow community members who share your commitment to making Cookeville a better place to live.
Event Details
This is a bring your own gloves event, so please come prepared with your own work gloves and comfortable clothing. We’ll be working together to collect litter, clear debris, and beautify our community spaces throughout Dogwood Park and the surrounding areas.
Whether you can stay for an hour or the whole event, every bit of help counts! We welcome volunteers of all ages and abilities. Families are especially encouraged to attend. It’s a great way to teach children about environmental stewardship and community responsibility.
What to Bring
- Your own work gloves (essential!)
- Reusable water bottle to stay hydrated
- Sunscreen and hat (weather dependent)
- Comfortable, closed-toe shoes
- A positive attitude and community spirit!
- Friends and family members who want to help
We’ll provide trash bags, grabbers for those who need them, and guidance on where to focus our cleanup efforts. We’ll also have a designated coordinator on-site to answer questions and ensure everyone knows where they can make the most impact.
What to Expect
The event will run for approximately 2-3 hours, though you’re welcome to participate for as long as your schedule allows. We’ll start with a brief welcome and orientation at 10:00 AM, then break into smaller groups to cover different sections of the park efficiently.
Don’t worry if you’ve never participated in a cleanup event before—we’ll make sure everyone feels welcome and knows exactly what to do. This is a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where the goal is to work together and enjoy the satisfaction of seeing immediate positive results from our efforts.
Making a Lasting Impact
Events like this remind us that small actions add up to big changes. By dedicating just a few hours of our time, we can transform our shared spaces and inspire others to take pride in our community. The cleaner our parks and public areas, the more people will want to use and enjoy them, creating a positive cycle of care and appreciation.
